In a post now circulating on X of Ro Khanna speaking with MSNBC. Khanna expresses the necessity of legislation that provided the overdue emphasis on anti-corruption and ethics reform. The legislation titled “Drain the Swamp Act.” Is a deliberate echo of Trump’s 2016 Presidential Campaign slogan, where he would come in as a man of the people to weed out corruption and “drain the swamp.”
The key elements of the bill include:
Ban on lobbyists giving gifts to White House officials.
Mandatory “cooling” periods to reduce revolving door effect between government service and lobbying.
Prohibition of the “special golden parachute” payments from former employers when someone comes into either government or post government roles.
Khanna says Democrats need to reclaim “money out of politics” and anti-corruption should be a signature value. Ro Khanna has a long record of anti-corruption and socioeconomic impacts, including child-care cost proposals. He is one of the bipartisan representatives, along side Thomas Massie (R-KY), pushing for the release and accountability for Epstein survivors and demanding the release of the full Epstein Files.
